The Department of Anthropology at Rice University is pleased to invite nominations (including self-nominations) for its second annual Chair's Lecture. The aim of the Chair's Lecture is to highlight scholarship that challenges and expands theoretical and/or methodological boundaries of anthropology, produced by emerging scholars from underrepresented minority groups.
This year, we seek work that explores:
The 2019 lecture will be delivered this Spring, and carries a $1000 honorarium. All travel and accommodation costs will be covered.
Application Procedure: Nominations include the scholar's name, affiliation, and contact information and may be submitted at: https://anthropology.rice.edu/annual-chairs-lecture. Nominated scholars will be asked to submit a CV and a proposed lecture title and abstract. Nominations may be anonymous. For assistance, email anthro@rice.edu.
Deadline: All nominations must be received by FEBRUARY 5.
Eligibility: We seek nominees from underrepresented minority groups who received their PhDs no earlier than 2011.
