Composer Marcus Maroney’s OK, Goodbye Inspired by Professor Howe & Boyer's Research

Orchestra playing their instruments

Composer Marcus Maroney’s OK, Goodbye, for flute, viola d’amore, and chamber orchestra, inspired by the melting of the Icelandic Okjökull glacier, and highlighting soloists Matt Dane and Christina Jennings, will premiere Saturday, September 25, 2021. Professors Cymene Howe and Dominic Boyer brought international media attention to OK through their research and documentary film “Not OK” — and when they memorialized Iceland’s first glacier lost to climate change.
