Rice alumnus Marcel LaFlamme ‘18 has been appointed as the new Director of Research Policy and Scholarship at The Association of Research Libraries (ARL). LaFlamme previously served as an open research manager at the Public Library of Science (PLOS). He brings extensive experience in libraries, publishing, and scholarly communication. In his new role, he will lead ARL’s Scholars and Scholarship portfolio, focusing on data-driven research, AI, open science, and innovative publishing.
